fun weekend

I really had a fun weekend. I will post pictures and talk about the details later in my outing blog. The trip was a bit tiring but i couldn't care less. I had a great time and it was nice seeing one of my online friends again. It's truly my pleasure to have been invited to attend the birthday party of her daughter. Her family has a beachhouse and of course i like that. I like to be under the sun yet at the same time, i hate to be under the sun. Why so? Because my skin will get dark so easily and then i'll get blackheads all over my nose and chin. I get so annoyed by it but i guess no amount of skin blemish can stop me from enjoying the beach and the sun.

tip to dressing and looking good and feeling great

Even before, i always try to wear the best undies or my favorite undies whenever i have to attend important occasions or special gatherings. It always makes me feel good and comfortable. It boosts some aura of confidence and beauty. Later on, either i read it on a magazine or saw on a fashion-lifestyle tv show that wearing sexy gorgeous undies is one of the tips to look good. It's like there's an inner power that will bring magic and will let you feel good and look good. You know what? I believe that because that's what i have been doing. I don't know if people notice it but i sure do feel good when i wear some nice lingerie whenever i'm out. Even if i'm busy at work, i still try doing it because i feel it helps me look not that exhausted. You should try it! ;)

i halt my diet last weekend

As what some of my friends know, i'm following a diet plan for the past month already. I had to do something with my weight because i'm really not happy with it anymore. I always complain that i'm getting big but i'm doing nothing about it. So, for over a month now, i followed a diet i won't reveal not until i can say it's effective. But i was out of town for the weekend so my idea of diet went into the thin air! I ate my heart out for the past 4 days that i think the little amount of weight i lost is gained back in just a matter of 4 days. It's ok though, i know i still can do better in the next coming days. They say, aside from dieting, i should incorporate some exercises to further losing of weight. Maybe i should do some running or at least go to the gym and use the treadmills so i could sweat. I'm hoping that in the next 2 months, i'll reach my target weight. Wish me luck!

townhouses and real estates

Last weekend, after watching the motocross in Panagdait, a couple of friends and I went to a subdivision not too far from my workplace. We checked the area if there are still vacant slots for sale. One of my officemates is already living there and told us that the subdivision is nice and it's not that costly. Well, the place is quite ok. It's not that far from the church and school. I think the developer also has commercial real estate for sale and for rental. I'm really not planning on getting a house yet as i can't afford it as of this time but it's good to start looking. You'll never know, i might just win in a lottery!

accidents in the streets

No matter how we try our best to be safe all the time, there are just reckless people who do not think of their safety, let alone thinking of other's safety. For the last couple of days, i've seen lots of car accidents especially in reclamation area. And it's not a good sight. You'd know there must have been lives lost and injuries to endure by the passengers nor drivers. While it's really not avoidable and accidents do happen sometimes, it's always good that you'll refer to a truck accident lawyer when it happens. You better get your case assessed by the experts only.

dream living room

On Sunday nights, i try not to miss my favorite local TV show that features the best of houses in the country. They give tips on how to make small spaces appear big. They also give tips on how to decorate and maximize your house. There was one house that they feature that i truly like because it has a superb home theater seating in their living room. I wish i have one but for now, i'll content myself with my wooden chair. It's definitely a dream living room i must say.

i'm a proud mama

After my pre birthday celebration last Sunday in the beach, i went to my friend's house. I'm such a lousy person that i haven't gotten a chance to visit her in the hospital. Seriously, I was so busy then and she was at the hospital for a few days only. So, I paid her a visit that afternoon and it was nice to see her for the first time - as a mother.

When i arrived at their house, the baby was sleeping soundly. She is a picture of an angel you can't dare to stir up. When she woke up, her mother had to change her disposable diaper and it brought back some memories. I used to change the cloth diapers of my younger siblings back then. Maybe it wouldn't be that hard if i had to do it with my future children someday.

i'm a year older - the summary

 
Last July 14, i turned another year older, but none the wiser :P I don't usually make a fuzz of my birthday. I don't even celebrate ;) This year, i spent a fortune! Because i wanted it to be special and worthwhile. Special but not grand. Special in a way that it is shared with the people i hold dear. Not all were there, but at least most were. I had a 3-day celebration (murag artista!). First with my family, another with my female friends and a third one with my coworkers. Why 3? Well, for one, i cannot accommodate them all in one setting. I just want a subtle and simple gettogether. 2nd reason, 3 is an important number for my birthday this year. haha! :P

the wows of GPS tracking

Technology is evolving and innovative ways and means are unstoppable. Everyone and every company in each chosen field is keeping at par with the latest of today's technology. Have you ever thought that through the advancement of technology you could keep track of almost anyone? Yes, sure you can! Guys, been eyeing on that gorgeous girl next door but doesn't have a clue on where she hangs out? Cheer up, you'll soon have the chance to be with her crowd through GPS Tracking technology. Of course, you don't have to come off like a stalker that might get her appalled. Just be cool and take advantage of GPS tracking technology. If i were a company director or manager, i'd probably go with the idea of tracking my employees if they are sent out to work. It's a better way of knowing and ensuring that they are not slacking! I wouldn't mind if i were tracked as long as it's official. And if i were a mother, this is best for my children to know that they are safe. To all the wives out there who are worried about cheating husbands? This is the answer! The only question there is, would the husband agree? I think this will all boil down to whether the cause of tracking is beneficial or not. The important thing is that we understand that technology is there to help ease our lives.

the not so sporty me

One of the tv series that i have been addicted to is Laguna Beach. It's a show that follows the elite lifestyle of a group of teenagers in California. One of the main characters is called LC or Lauren Conrad and her boyfriend was an avid golf player. So on his birthday, she planned on giving him a set of golf club and golf balls to complete his collection. It lead me to thinking - i don't play any sports so it would be difficult if i have a boyfriend who plays a lot of sports! Getting sports items for him would be a challenging job since i know nothing. Well, i don't have a boyfriend so why worry about it! LOL! :P

i'm a year older :)

July 14, my natal day! There's no turning back, lol! I planned on waking up early and then go to church. Nothing new, i woke up late so i changed my plan and went to church in the afternoon instead. I was absent from work but still i came in to reply some important business emails. Glorie picked me up at around 5:00pm and off we went to Sto. Nino Church. I received a phone call from a former colleague wishing me a happy birthday. I was relieved for quite a time, i thought this person was mad at me for some things i did last month. I'm glad to know he has no ill feelings to me contrary to popular belief!

I should hear the mass but we were late so i just uttered my sincerest prayers and thanks, then proceeded to Lighthouse Restaurant in Mango Avenue to meet my close friends in the office. Too bad, not all were present.

We had a good time taking pictures especially when the desserts were served! LOL! Jai (a colleague fresh from Spain) just arrived and managed to be with us in the later part of the dinner.

two more days and it's my birthday!

Yup! You read it right. Just two more days and i'm gonna celebrate another blissful year. Excited for my birthday, starting today, i will be wearing red until the day after of my birthday. Why so? I'd have to say, just because. Well, i'm just happy i've come to this age and i'm embracing it. In fact, i'll celebrate my birthday starting tomorrow. Another one on my birthday itself and a third one after the day of my birthday. Isn't that fabulous? Aside from my birthday, i have other birthday invitations for this month. I'm excited just the same because I will be going out of town! Yes!

on getting the hand-me-down stuff

Here at work, some ways are a lot like what we have at home. The younger children always get the hand-me-downs stuff from the older siblings. More often than not, the younger siblings always envy the older ones since they always get the new ones. A few months ago, one of my teammates asked me if he could get a new PC with faster memory because it always troubles him when he's doing some documentation. I was sorry to tell him that the new PCs were intended for the senior engineers who were still using old PCs. Fortunately for him though, he didn't have to wait that long because in the following month, new PCs were allocated also to the new associates.

always out of space

My hard disk in the office that is. With total size of 74.5 GB, i only now have a free space of 1.4 GB. I cannot receive emails, not even delete! I'd have to press shift+delete to free up space and receive incoming mails. I've been telling myself to burn all my old files but never got around to it. Now that I have the chance, i still cannot do it. I'm gonna need a cable for the laptop. I have to see if the available Cat5e patch cable in the lab will suffice. I have to get this task done or else i'd have to delete some old pictures in my files to accommodate more important recent files.

Hmnn yey! finally i wore something today that i have never tried putting on before. Not even once! The day is over and i made it! Yehey! What could that be? Secrettttt..... :D :P

health habits

Last March, as some of you may have know, I was hospitalized because one morning I woke up to a severe stomachache. I went through a lot of exams including endoscopy. Turned out, i was just having hyper acidity. But i was advised to eat healthy food to refrain from suffering stomach disorders again and again. Right now, i try much to choose what i eat and take some supplements that aids in colon cleanse and healthy digestion. It's never fun to stay in the hospital for days, i tell you.

really, i'm on a diet

Seriously, i'm on a strict diet right now! Ok, take away the word serious since i cheat sometimes. I really feel i'm getting bigger and bigger! I have to do something about it! I wanted to wear all those two-piece swimwear i have but i can't because my fats are overwhelming! Health wise, i'm way overweight for my height. I should not weigh more than 112 lbs but i am now 124lbs. I have to lose at least 12 lbs. Back in college, I only weigh from 103-108lbs. I have a poor eating habit and I don't exercise. I always think of food, food and food. What do I expect with that? So, some 20 days ago, I started my diet plan. Hopefully i will see the result in a month! I swear it's really difficult. I just don't go to the canteen anymore so I wouldn't be tempted to eat all those junks. On Sundays though, I pig out, it's my reward for eating good on weekdays. Simply put, just an excuse to cheat and eat to my heart and stomach's content! Phentermine is widely used to help obese patients to suppress hunger and lose weight. As for my case, i just eat healthy food.

cosmetic dentistry

Finally, this coming Tuesday is my last appointment with the dentist. Well I fervently hope it's the last one since I have been going to the clinic for a couple of times already for my root canal sessions. For our last session, I'll be having the permanent tooth pasta. The dentist told me last time that I should try the cosmetic dentistry for my front teeth. I was excited as this would surely improve the appearance of my teeth. I should try it especially that I've heard about charlotte cosmetic dentist that is known for cosmetic dentistry.

volleyball enthusiast

I just received an email from a colleague that they are inviting all female associates who are volleyball enthusiasts to join the tryout. Whoever will be selected will form the company's volleyball women's team for the MEPZ sports fest 2008. I was never a volleyball enthusiast. I do watch some volleyball match as some of my friends are volleyball players. None in my family is athletic. We don't have trophies at home that could be accounted for achievements in sports. Well, some of us just excel in different fields.

craving for italian cuisine?

One of my favorite cuisines is Italian. I just can't get enough of it. Every now and then i always think of eating Italian food. On my side of this planet, Italian restaurants aren't that many so it is always a luxury to be able to eat in a cozy Italian restaurant that serves authentic home style Italian food. For the last couple of weeks, me and my friends decided to have a food trip every other weekend. Of course, i make it a point that we get to it some Italian food. I did post some pictures, just look it up in my blog archives. Variation of style is always interesting right? So what do you say if I say we eat some great Italian food in a place with Mediterranean setting? Yes, we sure can! Try La Jolla restaurants and get to enjoy their food while overlooking a beautiful La Jolla Cove. Oh, this seems romantic. I should find a date!

baby names

My friend and colleague, Lenny, just gave birth to her first baby. We were all excited then the moment we found out that she's going to have a baby girl. We were suggesting a lot of names until finally she and her husband agreed to name the baby Samantha. I have always been fascinated on how some parents can uniquely and creatively come up with baby names. As for my case, i'm a bit frustrated because my parents just gave me a four-letter name. Some would combine the father and mother's name while some would name their baby from the grandparent's name. I know of some people whose names are derived from famous celebrities. If you are one of those expecting parents who don't have a clue yet, check out this celebrity names of babies and you might as well just be able to pick out the nicest of names in the world. Now, i realized, it's a tricky job picking for baby names huh. My mind changes everyday but i have always wanted that my future baby girl's name will have a Marie on it.

organizational changes

Change is inevitable in almost every aspect of our lives. Just like at my work, there has been major changes in the organizational structure of employees. The change is global as we were told so it is for sure that we will be managed by a new senior manager as well. This might bring a lot of changes to the department maybe - different folks have different strokes as they say. This new manager might have his own style of managing and implementing tasks. Though we will change management, we will still be using the same technology and suppliers for our electronic modules. The microprocessors we usually use are from Motorola. Speaking of which, i just heard that they have a new executive vice president for Integrated Electronic Systems Sector division in the person of Dennis Carey. I'm quite curious about this guy. Let me read more so I would know about his previous jobs and achievements and why has he moved working for another company.

things to do before turning hmmnnn :P

I'm sure i made a list for this before but i'm just not so sure where i placed it. Now, my birthday is coming in the next few days and i'm just too lazy to write another one. Recalling, i think i accomplished half of it. Should be great if i'd be able to do all that i've listed but it's just rather too wishful thinking...

state of quandary is over

Exactly a month ago, i should be in Manila already but here i am still in good old Cebu.

Early on this year, i hurdled a very serious predicament in my life. I'd like to believe i'm over it right now - at least on the specific aspect of it.

January - i had a job interview for a Manila based company (headquarter's in Germany) here in Cebu and received the job offer in March. I was certain i wanted the job. It's going to be the same job that i currently do but I was so sure i wanted a new environment. But i wasn't ready to move out so I asked for a leeway. I said i'd join them in June. I was lucky to have given the chance and they waited for me. For the past 3 months, it wasn't a very easy task for me. I weighed each day and night whether joining them would be good or not. It was an ordeal, really. To some, it may just come easy to decide but i have lived my whole life in Cebu and it's going to be a complete turn around leaving. I have my family here (parents and sisters) and right now, i'm not certain if they can stand on their own. I have always been the wage earner and i have always been the one to decide on everything. Sure, i can still help them even when i'm away but i have always been the helpline 24/7. I know i'd have to leave them eventually but it's not yet the time. There ain't a perfect time for it but there will come a time.

I sought advise and thought things over and over again. I needed to make a choice sooner. I had everything ready, my pre employment requirements were all done. Then again, i wasn't ready emotionally. So, I made a choice. Well, you obviously can guess what my choice was.

Many said i made the right decision. Many friends were happy that i'm staying. I do know too that because of my decision, i have wronged other people. So, i'd have to say sorry for the disappointments and frustrations and troubles perhaps that i caused. But know that i truly am thankful for the opportunity.

I will always be now the girl who wonders what could have been her life there? My only consolation would be that whatever my choice could have been, it will always spell risk and unpromised future. Is staying goor or bad? I don't know... i don't want to think about it. I'm just happy i'm half way over this dilemma.

michelle's getting married today!

Michelle is a former colleague who now resides in Canada. She is one of the few people i look up to. Intelligent, good natured, pretty and very down to earth. Today, July 4, she'll tie the knot to the man of her life. I'm so happy for her! :) With that being said, the pressure i impose on myself is very high! Why? Riza, also a former colleague (now living in Michigan) is about to become a mother. Riza and Michelle are my two "tamdanans" (sort of measuring device) that by the time they get married, i should be getting married by then too. Hmnn i still have a few years to work on it! LOL! :P Geez, help me God! LOL!
