portable harddisk

I already mentioned that i have lots of files to burn yet. I have a gazillion of photos still from 2006 that needs backup. I was able to save some and it took me a couple of hours transferring the files to the PC with DVD writer. Later, i bought an 8GB flash drive and somehow, transferring of files was easier. Transferring via the network drive is not a wise thing to do. A couple of weekends ago, i already started looking for another flash drive. This time i'm looking of buying a portable harddisk. I scouted in the malls for sale items so i could get them at discounted prices. I was not pretty convinced with all that i saw so i tried browsing the net. Olalah! I think i just found one!

I want this external hard drive very badly! It's a Western Digital 750GB My Book Essential Edition USB 2.0 External Hard Drive for only $99.00. Wow! You know, i will be able to save $70.00 because the list price is $169.00. Plus shipping is free! Seriously, I want this! Can my Manita or Manito get this for me? This is really a great item. And i like the color. ;)

those were the days...

when i was still a little slimmer... this pic is not edited... it's blurred as it is... and i remember how our former Lead Engineer would bully us that we look like health center aids with our uniform.... huhuh! gone is that slender figure of mine! arrgghhh!

photographs and memories

One of my ultimate hobbies is collecting photos. When i'm home and left with nothing to do, i'd usually arrange and rearrange the photos in my albums. I especially have lots of photos from work during my first 3 years since at that time we still use the good old photo films. I think i got a dozen of photo albums at home. Most of them i got on sale in the malls because i love slugging myself in bookstores not reading books but looking for stationaries, notebooks and cute albums. With the advent of technology, i now collect more than a dozen of discs full of pictures. I haven't labelled them all. I just made sure all were saved because at once, my harddisk crashed! I'm thinking now of buying a digital photo frame, a Sunpak 10.4-inch black wood, SF104-42001SL model. Online, it will cost $103.99, giving me a savings of $145.96 because the list price is about $249.95. Shipping is totally free so i really don't have to spend for extra charges. Can someone get me this for Christmas? :) Photos are great memorabilias of the experiences we had. I sure will have an awesome way of storing and sharing photos if i got my self this type of photo frame.

the unit

Movies and Me: The Unit

Hail to the tv series The Unit! This is my current addiction and I can't wait to watch the complete episodes of Season 4, currently aired on American TVs. I have so many favorite lines uttered by the characters, sadly i can't memorize them all. Probably not my usual type of movie or series but i'm really hooked! It's about the elite group of trained soldiers whose tasks are mostly involved in terrorists attacks and the likes. True enough - soldiers are unsung heroes! I so much admire these army wives who could keep their sanity intact everytime their husbands leave for their missions. Ah! Just watch The Unit - there's the killing and all, but really i'm just hooked to it. Much more than i was hooked to Heroes and House. Heheh! :P

Max Martini as Master Sergeant Mack Gerhardt
i never want to marry a soldier but i'd change my heart in a bit if it's him! :D

Max Martini, Dennis Haysbert as Master Sergeant Jonas Blane, Scott Foley as Sergeant First Class Bob Brown

Who would think that i'd be interested in wars, terrorists, bombs, etc!?!?!

aerobics fever

Arrgghh! I'm jealous! Three of my female coworkers are now going to the gym and are into dance aerobics. I've heard another one will be joining too. They kept on inviting me but i cannot just decide yet. It would mean i would have to report to work early so that i can go out early and attend the dance aerobics. I so wanted to join in any dance lessons/class but work sched would always get in the way. It would help if I live nearby but i don't so it's quite not feasible. Maybe i'll just do my own dance routine at home but dancing in a group is more fun! It's not just about losing weight, i enjoy dancing so it's hitting two birds with one stone. What can I do? Leptovox and exercise - the dress for our upcoming Christmas party should fit right already.

commercials and signs

I'm a certified TV buff, there's no denying about that. When i'm home, i'm usually just watching TV. Well, there's really nothing much to do, so the idiot box is my bestfriend. Sometimes, it's really not the TV shows that i enjoy watching. It's the commercials and advertisements that catch my beguiling eyes. I'm always amused on how the geniuses behind these TV ads can think so unambiguously. Most if not all commercials are really boring but I have to say that there are really those that are witty and funny! Some are even cute and heart warming. Even print ads can speak so much about the product, just depending on how it is presented. But huge billboards will all those flashy lightings say a digital signage is even more catching and striking. I wonder if i'm good if i made a career in advertising? Hmnnn...

my officemates and i are obsessed in what?

My female coworkers and I are pretty obsessed on the idea of losing weight. Take note, i just said "idea" because we are actually doing nothing. :P But true enough, two of them are going to the gym regularly lately. I have my fair share of gym moments before but laziness overpowered me. I'm thinking of going to the gym again but then again, holiday parties are just around the corner so i might just knock my gym sessions and put my money to waste? See, i have lots of excuses! Anyways, I've heard, Phentermine a diet pill, can also be another option. Hmnn... let me think about it. But for now, i should go and do some brisk walking. Wanna join me?

on problems...

Unlimited Quotes #9

If you can’t get through the mountain – Go around it.
If you can’t go around it – Go over it.

If you can’t go over it, sit down and ask yourself,
If getting to the other side is all that important.
If it is, set about digging a tunnel.

For every problem, there are many solutions.
Whatever the problems in life are, you have to find ways to get over it.

---
Got this from a forwarded mail. Sure, problems are always there. But to every problem, there has to be a solution. According to my teacher in graduate school: if a problem has no solution, then, it ain't a problem at all. So, don't worry folks! :)

weird dream

What are dreams? The dictionary defines it as a series of mental images and emotions occurring during sleep. Some say, it's the reflection of your subconscious. Dreams are the outcomes of what you think and fear or aspire. I have this dream when i was still a kid that until now i couldn't fathom whether it was real or was it just really an outcome of my flaky mind? I'm never into toys especially electronic toys. I don't even have dolls. I content myself from playing paperdolls. But i once dreamt of remote control helicopters flying around outside our windows. Seriously, until now, i still keep on thinking whether we had a kid neighbor who had such a great toy or was it just me dreaming of toys i can't have? But i wouldn't want a helicopter huh! I'm a girl! It's really weird! :P

traffic in the bridge

Whew! We're already mid of November and just a few more days and it's Christmas! Evidently, heavy traffic and rush hours are dominating wherever i go already. Not sure of other places, but from where i come from, Christmas starts as early as September. If you want to get to wherever you may be going on time, better spare extra minutes for the traffic. On my way to the office earlier, traffic in the new bridge is terribly annoying. I've been stucked for almost an hour already and we're not moving. Maybe if i walked my way, i would have probably on the other end of the bridge already. But it's too hot so i rather contain my temper and wait inside the jeepney. Traffic jam in the area isn't really a new thing but earlier was just way too much. It turned out, car collision occured right at the midway of the bridge. The two cars were seriously damaged. I just hope they got some car insurance perhaps like that of South Carolina auto insurance to help defray the expenses. Luckily though, the drivers weren't awefully harmed.

cook wannabee

Last weekend, i really was planning on cooking real food. I already printed the recipe and was convinced to buy some groceries Saturday evening so i could cook on Sunday. I was gonna cook beef steak or bistek. I was kind of excited but my mother was pushing she wanted to eat lechon. Lechon is a grilled pig. Sounds creepy huh! I could use the word pork but literally, the whole pig is being grilled. It is one famous delicacy from where i grow up and it is one food mostly missed by Filipinos abroad. Anyway, back to my cooking thingy. Since i wouldn't want to spend double for the lechon and beaf steak, i postponed my cooking drama. I'm not sure if my steak would taste good anyway, hehe. I saw this paella pan and i'm thinking if i buy one, my cooking experience would be even better.
