month ender

Oh my, time flies! January is about to end and the love month is here to come. Almost everyday, i'm consumed by the idea how days go by so fast. I can't believe it's going to be February already. It's just when we celebrate Christmas and New Year. Well...

Some parts of the world is celebrating the Chinese New Year so my friends (old colleagues) from Singapore came home to spend the holidays here in Cebu. It was nice to seem them 3 again. It's even nicer that they treat us to dinner. :P I'll post some photos in my other blog later. I saw another former colleague from Singapore and another one from Manila earlier today too. By this minute, the four must be on their flight back to Singapore already. See you soon, again, guys! (Hopefully in Singapore! LOL!)

i must, i must!

Golly! This never ending rants of mine about losing weight is really getting riling already. I promised to do this and do that but nada! I sometimes read about the best weight loss pills in the market and wonder if they are ever effective and beneficial. But right now, i just want to lose weight naturally. How can that be possible though when i tend to get so lazy doing even the simplest exercise known to mankind. I'm sometimes thankful that it's cold because i would have to pee often and that would mean i would have to walk often. Heheh! Even so, peeing can be annoying? Huh! See, how riling i can get! Seriously though, i really must manage my weight. It's not pretty obvious in the photos but i really have to deal with it. Then again, it only goes to my mind not in action. LOL!

shower parties

Hey there single friends! Can one of you get married soon? I so miss having shower parties! Maybe i just miss hanging around with my girl friends. Or maybe i should organize one even if noboby's getting married, lol! :D

window shopping

I passed by the appliance center in the mall today. I couldn't help but gazed on the different designs and brands of TVs displayed. Gone are the old tube television set that requires much space because of it's protruding back designs. I feasted my eyes looking at the all new flat screen televisions on sale. Geez, i realized i badly wanted one. I also saw some tv stands that would perfectly bear my TV in perfect location. I'm still loving my good old tv though. It's what keeps me company on my lazy nights. Then again, i would buy a new one if i have the money! Arrggh!

employee health and safety

I used to be one of the 5S auditors in the office. 5S is the Japanese concept for House Keeping. 1.) Sort (Seiri) 2.) Straighten (Seiton) 3.) Shine (Seiso) 4.) Standardize (Seiketsu) 5.) Sustain (Shitsuke) I'm not working for a Japanese firm but we are adopting it. I think it's just right because it somehow makes sure that the employees are working in a safety environment. Not directly, but the principle behind it encompasses the word safe. Say, i'm checking the laboratory - i have to make sure that everyone inside is wearing the safety equipment nor all the wirings are properly bonded nor the top of cabinets are free from falling objects. Things like these i think should be properly monitored and implemented so that the employees' health and safety is rightly addressed. Not that i wanted to become an auditor again because it's kinda tiring. I'm just saying... :P

couch potato

I'm really hoping i'll be able to wake up early tomorrow so I could watch the annual fluvial parade. The parade is just one of the many activities during the annual Sinulog festival. Come Sunday is the grand day - the street mardigras wherein you will see lots of contingents in their most colorful and most exuberant costumes. I'm not sure if i'll be watching it though because i have to walk from Capitol down to Fuente Osmena. Let's see. If i'll be stricken by indolence, it wouldn't be bad because i have my new episodes of Ugly Betty to watch for. I could only wish i have this home theater seating at home so that my viewing pleasure is more than comfortable.

i rather be a passenger

What? Yes, i rather be a passenger than a driver. Why so? For some reasons, i think it's better if i'm just a passenger. Of course, i think it's cool to drive around and don't get my hair messed up riding in a public utility jeepney. But you see, i'm poor in reading directions and i'm a panic-freak missy. A passenger would only have to sit and wait 'till she gets to her destination. No fuss. Opps, that's not my car. It's my friend's and i'm just striking a pose. She just told me a while ago that she just paid for the car insurance and (ah) i forgot the other thing she paid for. Then there goes the maintenance, etc, etc. Ahh, i'm gonna stick to being a passenger.

alternative decor

Most of my colleagues are now looking into buying their own houses. I wanted that too. Of course. But my priority is to have my parent's house renovated first. When that is accomplished, then maybe i'll look into getting my own house. It's not gonna happen anytime soon, i know, but i already have in mind lots of ideas on what should my house look like. Whenever i have time, i keep on looking house designs particularly on designs of windows. I totally adore the 'french windows' type. I'm not sure if that exactly is the name or not. And guess what? I think i just found the perfect match for it. Bamboo shades would really be cool and sleek. It looks very homy and comfy. I like that my house has a touch of nature in it. Well, i gotta find a way to make my dream house come to reality first. :)

old notes

Here's another proof of me being a pack rat.

During my early days at work, i find it very difficult to leave voicemails to my counterparts. Whenever i had questions and wanted to make a follow-up, the best thing to do was to call or leave voicemalls. Then again, i find it very embarassing (that was back then). So, for me to avoid stuttering - i write down my notes first. Then i realized it's even more embarassing because i was like reading or doing some recitals, lol. I was cleaning my r2d2 (steel cabinet) awhile ago and found these pieces of notes. :)

Paulo Coelho's words on Solitude and Dependence

:::Quotes Unlimited:::

from Paulo Coelho's Warrior of The Light

When a Warrior is the victim of some injustice, he usually tries to be alone, in order no to show his pain to others.

This is both good and bad.

It is one thing to allow one's heart to heal its wounds slowly, but it is quite another to sit all day in deep contemplation for fear of seeming weak.

Inside each of us there lives an angel and a devil, and their voices are very alike. Confronted by a problem, the devil encourages the solitary conversation, trying to show us how vulnerable we are. The angel makes us reflect upon our attitudes and occasionally needs some one else’s heart to reveal itself.

A Warrior balances solitude and dependence.

packing mania

Brand new year - i should start up the year free of (old) clutters and garbage (literally). You know, i'm a fan of collecting junks. I'm a pack rat. So, by new year's eve, guess what i did? Cleaning is all. Ain't that fun? While everyone was outside busy making some noise, I was inside the house segregating my stuff. Geezz, i sure have a lot of things that need to be disposed. I'm going to need some shipping boxes so i could send my old shirts to my relatives in Ormoc if my sisters won't have it. Up until now, i'm still not done arranging my things. Whew!
