Here's another proof of me being a pack rat.

During my early days at work, i find it very difficult to leave voicemails to my counterparts. Whenever i had questions and wanted to make a follow-up, the best thing to do was to call or leave voicemalls. Then again, i find it very embarassing (that was back then). So, for me to avoid stuttering - i write down my notes first. Then i realized it's even more embarassing because i was like reading or doing some recitals, lol. I was cleaning my r2d2 (steel cabinet) awhile ago and found these pieces of notes. :)

company party '08

It's been a pretty hectic week since last week. Practically, month of December has always been busy. Not only with work tasks in the office but also with lots of gettogethers to attend to. Yesterday was a company holiday. The day of the company Christmas party is usually declared a holiday to give everyone ample time to prepare especially the program committee. This year's Christmas party was held in Sunflower Disco. The area was quite small for us but nevertheless we were accommodated. I was gonna put on my halter blouse i got on sale a couple of months ago but i changed my mind and wore a dress instead. The program started as early as 5:00pm. Well, not bad, that gave everyone more time in the dance floor. The movie flicks shown from each department were very hilarious. I think our version of Charlie's Angels was totally fun! In fact, our version of Cameron grabbed the Best Actress award. As usual, we had lots of photos so if i have another flash drive to spare, then i wouldn't have problems copying pictures from my coworkers' cameras. I will post more pictures next time when everyone shares their copy. I can't wait to see them all!

when i was still a little slimmer... this pic is not edited... it's blurred as it is... and i remember how our former Lead Engineer would bully us that we look like health center aids with our uniform.... huhuh! gone is that slender figure of mine! arrgghhh!

inseparable

I always thought that the software development and software validation sections in the office are inseparable. Previously, validation section as a whole reports to the development section. Eventually, we (validation group) were separated and we got our own Lead Engineer. We were already separate entities but still under the same manager. I never thought that we would be separated to a larger extent. Right now, the management is looking into making 3 major departments - hardware development, software development and software validation. We are going to have a new manager solely for our group. The question now is what's going to be the job descriptions of this new manager since we already have a Team Leader (who has Lead Engineers) who currently reports to the current Software/Validation/Hardware manager. There seems to be a redundancy of positions here but top management must have given this much thought already. Well...

grilled food and the beach...

We'll have no work tomorrow because HR people swapped it to Wednesday's holiday which is the Feast of Ramadhan. Oh, i'm excited! Me and my teammates will go to the beach. It's going to be fun. I hope somebody will bring fish for some healthy grilling action. I can't think of what to bring, maybe i'll just bring more fruits. Ahh the beach, grilled food, the sun... this is going to be heaven. I hope the weather will cooperate. :)

knickknacks collector

I really like to collect cute stuff like figurines, angels, decorative figures and even picture frames of variety of designs. My work desk in the office seem to look like my own desk at home because of the number of decors i have on it. If not for the 5S audit, i could have accummulated more. Some of my cute stuff are just stored in my cabinet because it's really never allowed to put non-work related items on my desk.

i hate thursdays

I sort of hate Thursdays. It is the time of the week when I will spend 2 hours maximum listening to my offshore counterparts during teleconferences. I just really find it tiring and annoying because sometimes i'm really just listening to some people talking and i only get to talk when asked. And i hate knowing the project status of coworkers because i need to know it because i will be asked anytime. And it will be a shame if i cannot answer. Now, i'm beginning to hate Wednesdays too. This time i'm like listening to a Chinese drama on air for most of the participants are from China office. I couldn't understand them and i can't get to hear them clearly. Maybe a Bluetooth headset will solve my concern! Hmmnn can i make a request for this? I just got an idea.

It's a happy afternoon in the office earlier because it's payday! :P The group decided to order food. We usually do this during paydays. Well, just a little reward for ourselves. Argghh not good for the diet! LOL! :P
