travelling memoirs

I used to travel in groups. I'm always with my friends and colleagues whenever i go someplace for relaxation or for fun or for pure diversion of the sedentary life in the office. We always try to make it that we'll stay in just one room even if sometimes it meant having to snug ourselves. It was always fun that way.

I suddenly miss my friends. The people i usually hang around with. They are now oceans across me and travelling together can now just happen once in a blue moon. Travelling alone can be boring, i know. But i've given it a second thought - it's equally fun. I've never travelled by boat my whole life alone but i made it sometime last month. And it seemed scary but it was at the same time elating.

One of my friends said she'd be going to Europe to visit her sister maybe end of this year. I really would like to go but i'm almost certain i won't be able to save enough for the trip. I can just imagine the luxury hotel rooms i would be staying. Maybe, someday soon, i'd get to visit this part of the world. Who knows right?

love month!

Love month is here and there's no stopping! Aw! :P Where will i be on this day of the year? Hmnnn, here's what i tell you, it's not going to change, i'll still be with my friends! Waahhh! Hahah! It's a Saturday. I can choose to stay at home and bore myself out. Or i can choose to stay out and enjoy the day. I think i'd choose the latter.

I pass by the mall today and saw all sorts of valentine items and decors populate almost every corner of the edifice. Love is definitely just around the corner. Sadly so, not within my corners. LOL! :P I had a happy stroll though. I got some promotional pens given by one of the bookstores. You know just how i love freebies. Well, so much with the love thingy. I wish everyone love-full days all throughout the year.

i must, i must!

Golly! This never ending rants of mine about losing weight is really getting riling already. I promised to do this and do that but nada! I sometimes read about the best weight loss pills in the market and wonder if they are ever effective and beneficial. But right now, i just want to lose weight naturally. How can that be possible though when i tend to get so lazy doing even the simplest exercise known to mankind. I'm sometimes thankful that it's cold because i would have to pee often and that would mean i would have to walk often. Heheh! Even so, peeing can be annoying? Huh! See, how riling i can get! Seriously though, i really must manage my weight. It's not pretty obvious in the photos but i really have to deal with it. Then again, it only goes to my mind not in action. LOL!

window shopping

I passed by the appliance center in the mall today. I couldn't help but gazed on the different designs and brands of TVs displayed. Gone are the old tube television set that requires much space because of it's protruding back designs. I feasted my eyes looking at the all new flat screen televisions on sale. Geez, i realized i badly wanted one. I also saw some tv stands that would perfectly bear my TV in perfect location. I'm still loving my good old tv though. It's what keeps me company on my lazy nights. Then again, i would buy a new one if i have the money! Arrggh!

employee health and safety

I used to be one of the 5S auditors in the office. 5S is the Japanese concept for House Keeping. 1.) Sort (Seiri) 2.) Straighten (Seiton) 3.) Shine (Seiso) 4.) Standardize (Seiketsu) 5.) Sustain (Shitsuke) I'm not working for a Japanese firm but we are adopting it. I think it's just right because it somehow makes sure that the employees are working in a safety environment. Not directly, but the principle behind it encompasses the word safe. Say, i'm checking the laboratory - i have to make sure that everyone inside is wearing the safety equipment nor all the wirings are properly bonded nor the top of cabinets are free from falling objects. Things like these i think should be properly monitored and implemented so that the employees' health and safety is rightly addressed. Not that i wanted to become an auditor again because it's kinda tiring. I'm just saying... :P

couch potato

I'm really hoping i'll be able to wake up early tomorrow so I could watch the annual fluvial parade. The parade is just one of the many activities during the annual Sinulog festival. Come Sunday is the grand day - the street mardigras wherein you will see lots of contingents in their most colorful and most exuberant costumes. I'm not sure if i'll be watching it though because i have to walk from Capitol down to Fuente Osmena. Let's see. If i'll be stricken by indolence, it wouldn't be bad because i have my new episodes of Ugly Betty to watch for. I could only wish i have this home theater seating at home so that my viewing pleasure is more than comfortable.

i rather be a passenger

What? Yes, i rather be a passenger than a driver. Why so? For some reasons, i think it's better if i'm just a passenger. Of course, i think it's cool to drive around and don't get my hair messed up riding in a public utility jeepney. But you see, i'm poor in reading directions and i'm a panic-freak missy. A passenger would only have to sit and wait 'till she gets to her destination. No fuss. Opps, that's not my car. It's my friend's and i'm just striking a pose. She just told me a while ago that she just paid for the car insurance and (ah) i forgot the other thing she paid for. Then there goes the maintenance, etc, etc. Ahh, i'm gonna stick to being a passenger.

alternative decor

Most of my colleagues are now looking into buying their own houses. I wanted that too. Of course. But my priority is to have my parent's house renovated first. When that is accomplished, then maybe i'll look into getting my own house. It's not gonna happen anytime soon, i know, but i already have in mind lots of ideas on what should my house look like. Whenever i have time, i keep on looking house designs particularly on designs of windows. I totally adore the 'french windows' type. I'm not sure if that exactly is the name or not. And guess what? I think i just found the perfect match for it. Bamboo shades would really be cool and sleek. It looks very homy and comfy. I like that my house has a touch of nature in it. Well, i gotta find a way to make my dream house come to reality first. :)

packing mania

Brand new year - i should start up the year free of (old) clutters and garbage (literally). You know, i'm a fan of collecting junks. I'm a pack rat. So, by new year's eve, guess what i did? Cleaning is all. Ain't that fun? While everyone was outside busy making some noise, I was inside the house segregating my stuff. Geezz, i sure have a lot of things that need to be disposed. I'm going to need some shipping boxes so i could send my old shirts to my relatives in Ormoc if my sisters won't have it. Up until now, i'm still not done arranging my things. Whew!

uninviting

As much as I would like to stay at home more often these holidays, I simply can't. Not to mention that i need to work, staying at home isn't relaxing either. You cannot imagine how noisy it is because the nearby building is undergoing repair and reconstruction. The architect said they're changing bearings and the flooring. I couldn't care less. All i want is for them to finish their job soon so i could get my much needed rest. Also, my cousin is repairing our roof so our house is really uninviting for anyone these days.

aint i a boss

It's supposedly holiday week and i'm supposedly just be home the entire week. But what do you know? I should be at the office and working. Why o why they can't move the timing and consider the holidays in the Philippines? Arrgghh! It can get so annoying right but i can't jeopardize the project either. Ahhhh! The hassles of being an employee. Maybe it's better if i have my own business then i can be my own boss. I can go to work just whenever i want. A friend of mine is working on her own business already, maybe i should try and look into some small business for sale that i could start. Hmnnn not a bad idea.

christmas wish

Whew! Just one more day and it's new year! Time flies really fast, so fast i can't keep track. Anyways, how's your Christmas holidays guys? I hope everyone had a happy and meaningful one. As for myself, i spent Christmas eve away from home - for the first time ever in my life. :D I always, always try to be home for Christmas but this year i spent it otherwise. I spent it with some good old friends somewhere. (I'll tell you the whereabouts when i have the photos :P) Anyhow, i was back on December 25 noon, so it's still Christmas :) As to my subject, i could always wish for good health for everyone in the family but practicality wise, i wish for a life insurance quote from Wholesale Insurance for everyone. We can never tell what's going to happen but this would at least help.

company party '08

It's been a pretty hectic week since last week. Practically, month of December has always been busy. Not only with work tasks in the office but also with lots of gettogethers to attend to. Yesterday was a company holiday. The day of the company Christmas party is usually declared a holiday to give everyone ample time to prepare especially the program committee. This year's Christmas party was held in Sunflower Disco. The area was quite small for us but nevertheless we were accommodated. I was gonna put on my halter blouse i got on sale a couple of months ago but i changed my mind and wore a dress instead. The program started as early as 5:00pm. Well, not bad, that gave everyone more time in the dance floor. The movie flicks shown from each department were very hilarious. I think our version of Charlie's Angels was totally fun! In fact, our version of Cameron grabbed the Best Actress award. As usual, we had lots of photos so if i have another flash drive to spare, then i wouldn't have problems copying pictures from my coworkers' cameras. I will post more pictures next time when everyone shares their copy. I can't wait to see them all!

her secret

Ain't I a vain person. But conscious enough about my belly. Not the exercise-always-to-get-flat-abs conscious but rather the not-doing-anything-but-always-complaining-about-her-bulging-belly conscious. Opps! I look like a pregnant woman with this blouse. Yay! My belly is bulging! Ulk! Just a few of the lines you'll hear from me every time when confounded by the fact that i have a big tummy! LOL! A friend who used to have the same predicaments have moved past these retaliations. She now has a flat tummy i so envy. She just told me her secret that come in diet pills along with regular exercise. Oh my! Maybe I should really try it.

keeping your clients safe

I'm almost always a fan of late night tv shows and documentary specials. A few weekends ago, i chanced on seeing a special report on how these con artists manipulate and rob banks. I was really furious as to how they could play roles and run off with all the money. Some innocent victims at hand may even pay the price. The security cameras installed inside the banks played major part in identifying the culprits. Security officers may not be able to stop the robberies but images captured from the cameras may help the policemen or special forces find a lead to the case. I therefore suggest that banks and other institutions should install these safety gadgets at all cost. The safety of their clients should come first.

sale madness

Went to Gasa Sa Gugma Center (Missionaries of Charity) earlier with some of my coworkers to visit the elderlies. It was quite a heart wrenching experience. How i wish they will be given more attention by our government. If not, i hope lots of benefactors will shower the center with more funds. Anyways, i will be posting rest of the story in my other blog. We later went to The Terraces in Ayala and have lunch. We opted for some pizzas and pastas. To burn the calories away, I strolled and was tempted even more to spend the last of my money for the lots and lots of things to buy on sale anywhere inside the mall. Control i did, still i went home with two blouses to show off. Tsk! Moving on more about sale madness - elusive it may seem, but i shall one day own a notebook. This Samsung NC10 would surely do. I'm concern with the HD capacity most of the time. Well, a 160GB HD is a winner! Even electronic items are sold at lesser prices now a days. I could only really hope i have the ample amount of money now and materialistic wise, my Christmas wish would be complete!

finally, i got

My friend and colleague, Melody, arrived back to Cebu last week from her assignment in Michigan already. There's no doubt that her family was excited of her return. Especially her son, who happens to be my godson. I too was very excited! Why not? She was bringing with her one of the items i so wanted to have this year. Finally, i got my My Book Essential Edition USB 2.0 External Hard Drive. If you happen to read one of my previous posts, i wrote i really wanted to buy a portable drive. Now, i have it! She got it on sale and certainly no shipping fee to account for. Ain't that neat?! Thanks so much to her. I hope i won't have to pay her though. Hehe! Can i have this as christmas gift instead? Hmmnnn... The next item i'm eyeing for is a MiniSD USB2.0 Multi-Media Card Reader from Aluratek. This little piece of delight can support any type of memory cards - MicroSD, MiniSD, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, etc. This should really come handy should i need to download pictures from my camera. How much? I can get if for just $11.99. That is quite affordable, right? Maybe, i'll have this next year. I'll have to save first for my hosting. LOL! :)

what can i do with my lovehandles?

Nice blue skies, nice view, nice picture - but this picture could have been greater if i don't have that spare tire to pair with. Waahhh! I'm so much annoyed by that excess muscle around my waistline. I think it's high time i should get myself some corsets especially if i'm wearing a dress. It should help me tuck those unwanted fats. Really, i'm not your very vain friend but sometimes it's really annoying if you don't get to wear all that you like. It can get stressful thinking about it you know, lol! I don't want to look thin, i don't want to look slim. I just wanted this bulging tummy be slimmer. I should poke myself! All i do is complain but never get my lazy butt to do some exercise. I should do something! Hmmnnn...

the kid next door

I kind of feel groggy while at work today. I should have slept early the night before because i was tired from our trip but I slept late instead. I coudn't resist watching my favorite TV series. Then I woke up a little early than usual. I woke up to the noise of my neighbor yelling at her 7-year-old daughter. I rose and looked in the window. This cute neighbor of mine was at their roof proudly cleaning. She's waving with a roof cleaner in hand. I doubt she's not cleaning at all but rather playing. Well, the scene could actually cause any mother to panic but she looked like she knew what she's doing :P I tried going back to sleep but to no avail. Well, at least i was up early. :)

portable harddisk

I already mentioned that i have lots of files to burn yet. I have a gazillion of photos still from 2006 that needs backup. I was able to save some and it took me a couple of hours transferring the files to the PC with DVD writer. Later, i bought an 8GB flash drive and somehow, transferring of files was easier. Transferring via the network drive is not a wise thing to do. A couple of weekends ago, i already started looking for another flash drive. This time i'm looking of buying a portable harddisk. I scouted in the malls for sale items so i could get them at discounted prices. I was not pretty convinced with all that i saw so i tried browsing the net. Olalah! I think i just found one!

I want this external hard drive very badly! It's a Western Digital 750GB My Book Essential Edition USB 2.0 External Hard Drive for only $99.00. Wow! You know, i will be able to save $70.00 because the list price is $169.00. Plus shipping is free! Seriously, I want this! Can my Manita or Manito get this for me? This is really a great item. And i like the color. ;)
